Senior Jacob Brownley (’19), son of Jim and Molly Brownley, has verbally committed to play golf and plans to continue his education at Ohio Dominican University next school year.

1. What led you to your decision to attend your chosen college?
Many things came into account with my decision, first was academics. ODU has a great business program. I also really like Coach Deible’s coaching style. When I was on my visit, it was clear that he really cared for his players and will do whatever it takes to help his players succeed. I also felt that ODU was the best place for me to improve my game.

2. What other schools did you consider?
I considered a few other schools but I ultimately I felt that ODU was the right place for me. I had offers from Thomas More University and Indiana University East.

3. Do you know what you want to study?
Business administration and management.

4. When did this school come into the picture?
ODU came into the picture in the summer when I was playing in a tournament with a former player and he talked very highly about Coach Deible and the program.

5. Have you visited the school? If so, when? How did it go?
Yes, I have visited a couple of times, it was great it felt like the perfect fit. I got a chance to meet some of the guys on the team and I felt like I fit in well. Also it was clear that the guys were serious about the game and wanted to get better, those are the type of guys I want to be surrounded by who will push me to get better.

6. Did anyone help you through the recruiting process? What kind of help did they provide?
Yes Coach Nguyen, he helped with emailing coaches and just overall support and idea on how to go through the process.

7. What are your strengths?
My work ethic, my love for the game, my understanding of the game, staying mentally right out on the course.

8. What do you think you need to improve before starting college?
I need to work on time management. I also need to work on getting physical and mentally stronger.
