The Firebirds erase a 15pt deficit in a win over St.X!
Summary By Bob Ashby:
Icicles hung from the Firebird rims as they shot 21.4% (6/28) the first half and shot no free throws at all. St Xavier held their maximum advantage of 15 points (13-28) shortly after the intermission. At that point West kicked in the afterburners to score 43 second-half points. The Firebirds took their first second-half lead “51-48” when Matt Oehler dropped “trey + one” with only 44 seconds left showing on the clock. Six West made free throws in the final 30 seconds kept the Bombers at bay. Leading the Firebird scoring were Oehler with 17 points, Carter Combs with 14, and Brady Weber with 10. Congratulations to head coach Jimmy Leon on the occassion of his first Lakota West win.
